PRINCIPAL’S BEARY IMPORTANT STUFF

March 21, 2017

We’ve made it to the third trimester of the year. It’s that time of year when we are looking forward to Spring Break and closing out a school year with a bang. We have many fun events planned for students and families so please watch the calendar and emails closely. I am excited to have a fun and productive spring.

SPRING FUNDRAISER FUN

One more thank you to all you who attended and supported our spring fundraiser. It was a night to remember! Plans are well underway for our summer transformation and the generous support of our community is going to make it a busy and exciting time. We will be coordinating with IUSD facilities to get as much done this summer in conjunction with their Measure E construction as we can. Thanks again to our PTA for its continued support of our students.

CONGRATULATIONS MRS. MARQUAND

Our very own Mrs. Marquand was the recipient of an IPSF Innovative Grant Award yesterday. IPSF honored teachers yesterday at TAPS fish house and brewery with grants to further the innovative teaching that IUSD is known for. Mrs. Marquand will be using her grant to purchase programs and manipulatives for the soon to be renovated library. Along with the spring fundraiser donations, this money will help transform our library into a new and innovative learning space.

SBAC TESTING BEGINS MAY 1ST

Some folks have asked about when SBAC testing would begin. We are able to wait until May because of your PTA’s support in providing Chromebooks for every grade level. We now have the ability to test in class and untether ourselves from the computer lab. The testing window will be two weeks this year versus the six week window of years past. The link below offers some information regarding testing if you are interested.
